Did you know? The first rubber ducks didn’t even float: they were cast solid and intended as chew toys. By the 1940s, rubber ducks developed into the iconic floating yellow figure with bright orange bill we recognize today. They were initially made from rubber, but have been made of vinyl for multiple decades now. “Rubber duck races” are held all over the world. These events often feature thousands of the bright yellow ducks “racing” down a river to see which one will cross the finish line first.
